Like pretty much all the rares on this list, Coffin Smasher, is still competitive in the late game despite being fairly easy to pull. If they add more usable champions they can then come back around and force us to spend money maxing them out by introducing new restricted rooms, tournaments, etc.Coffin Smasher is a Champion of the Magic Affinity that belongs to the Knight Revenant faction. This is probably the thinking, but with FW and now Doom Tower we can see Plarium taking efforts to force players away from using the same roster for everything. It wouldn't make good financial sense for them to produce so many rares that are easier to level and min/max when people spend money on epics and legos. If we're talking new players they'd probably be happier to pick up Channeler than any of the new rares, since he's on the Rhazin fusion. That's half of the Skinwalker non-void rares. Greybeard isn't so hot but he's still better than most of the new champions. Fleshmonger may lose out to Warmaiden but he's worth having for FW and now potential secret rooms. True, and some factions scream 'afterthought.' However even in the Skinwalker's limited rare lineup we have Gnarlhorn. The fact that she uses 19 books shows that Plarium is having us on.Īll of these champions are in the ancient pool now, and even if you're a total fresh face you'd be better off using them as food. Outlaw Monk is a decent starter poisoner, Tigersoul is at best a waste of space and at worst a trap to new players. I have seen some people say she is a decent starter poisoner. They could have included some of the older useful rares for beginner players, but they chose not to. In the current Pyxniel fusion there are 3 new fusion rares and none of them are any good. You could also make a niche argument for Wyvernbane. From that 12 we have Avir as a solid champion. Looking back to the Vergumkaar fusion, 12 new (non void) rares were added. They are added as filler to be used as food.

I know I'm not the first to think this, but with the exception of void rares I propose that Plarium no longer intends players to actually use new rare champions.
